    2024-2025 Sheep Showing

Right now she is in full whine mode... "Oreo is too strong". All three kids helped train sheep. Dominic's wether to be go first lesson on halters. Painted Peggy is VERY unhappy because I've decided I'm going to try showing her in Open classes. Might as well since she's in the small pen eating...

The journey into the abyss of no return

@Ridgetop I believe it is perfectly legal to hot wire the **** out of your storage buildings like a well house to prevent animals from destroying things. And nothing says you have to make controls easily accessible for any random trespasser to turn it off.

The ac unit is frozen solid. So we get to sleep with windows open and drug ourselves with allergy medicine.

The journey into the abyss of no return

Wow she's insane and absolutely fearless. One accidental let alone on purpose twitch and she'd be maimed or dead. How does she think she can put a gate across shared access road cutting of properties behind her?! Guess you'll have to bring your master key...

    2024-2025 Sheep Showing

Cassandra and I took turns walking Oreo and Socks. We've figured out that a standard buckle halter gripped on underside of jaw give Cassandra best control. Socks did a lot of flopping and panicking. Hera was concerned and kept sniffing her.

Oreo has wonderful milk supply. Do large full udders show well for breeding ewes? I know they are great for show dairy goats...

There is a hard clay layer several inches down under the loose topsoil layer. My plan is to pull all the loose muck out exposing the clay layer which I will even out, then put a couple layers of basic geotextile fabric down, then rock.

Okay, pulled the trigger on purchasing a 6'6" funnel feeder for $425. I'm going to dry out and rock the north night pen for the ewes ASAP. I calculated it will be 4 cubic yards if I go 6" thick.

    Leonidas' Story

Leo is stuck in the night pen for foreseeable future. The ground is so stinking wet he can put his paws on my crappy dividing fence and lean it over t-posts and all. Not braced and stretched yet because rain came before the money, sigh. He's also digging out under north water meadow fence to...

I had to evacuate the main sheep shed over the weekend. So sloppy that Aria was having trouble moving. So everyone is in the new ram bachelor pad. I still need additional panel clamps and raise floor in shed. Better than what they had.

Anyway ... Son did not earn $10 for stabbing me with the collar pin. He did have fun hanging out with the older boys in the troop. Cassandra and Dominic were mostly good during the meeting. They semi-patiently waited for the food.
